Job summary
Kiewit Nuclear Solutions in Lenexa, KS or Oak Ridge, TN is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer at mid level to join our nuclear projects. You will perform conventional and nuclear electrical design, lead design development, and collaborate with procurement and construction teams to deliver safe, cost-effective solutions.
The role requires a ABET-accredited EE degree and 5+ years of experience, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- 5+ years in electrical system design for industrial or nuclear power plant projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed electrical design for power systems including AC/DC calculations and protection coordination.
- Develop equipment specifications and support procurement and vendor Q&A
- Prepare scoping documents and constructability reviews
- Design lighting, communications, and security systems for facilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and interface with clients
- Travel to client/vendor sites for design reviews and coordination
