Job summary

Standard Nuclear is seeking an EH&S Manager to lead environmental, health, safety, and radiological protection across manufacturing and laboratory operations. You will ensure compliance, drive continuous improvement, and partner with operations, engineering, and quality teams to foster a strong safety culture.

The role demands strategic direction and hands-on oversight, with accountability for regulatory compliance, program execution, and scaling EH&S systems as the company grows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of EH&S experience in a nuclear environment.
• Experience managing EH&S programs and leading safety teams.
• Experience supporting radiation safety or radiological protection programs in nuclear or similarly controlled environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOE/NRC requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of site EH&S programs aligned with regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Maintain and strengthen core safety programs including hazard communication, lockout/tagout, electrical safety, machine guarding, fall protection, confined space, respiratory protection, PPE, ergonomics, and emergency preparedness.
• Integrate EH&S requirements into operational activities through hazard reviews, safe work planning, and field engagement.
• Drive a proactive safety culture by establishing expectations, accountability, and partnering with leaders to identify and correct unsafe conditions.
• Provide oversight of industrial hygiene evaluations for chemical, particulate, noise, heat stress, ergonomic, respiratory, and other hazards.
• Coordinate with health providers for medical surveillance and protective equipment as needed.
• Support radiation safety and radiological protection programs, including contamination control and dosimetry.
