Job summary

General Matter in Torrance, California is seeking an EH&S Engineer to advance environmental, health, and safety programs supporting the development of advanced enrichment technologies and pilot-scale operations, ensuring compliance and operational excellence.

You will lead hazard analyses, incident investigations, audits, and training, collaborating with engineering, operations, and quality teams to design safe facilities, manage PPE, and oversee regulatory requirements from OSHA, NRC, and DOE

Qualifications

• Experience performing hazard analyses for R&D or pilot-scale operations.
• Experience conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations with root-cause analysis.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills for procedures and compliance reports.

Responsibilities

• Support EH&S program development and continuous improvement for the company.
• Perform hazard analyses for R&D activities and pilot-scale operations.
• Partner with engineering, operations, and quality teams to ensure safe facility design and commissioning.
• Lead incident investigations, audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver EH&S training programs and materials.
• Maintain safety equipment and PPE, including inventory management and calibration.
• Manage regulatory compliance activities involving OSHA, NRC, DOE, and environmental requirements.
