Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking an undergraduate/graduate student intern to support nuclear reactor modeling and digital engineering. You will develop Python tools for automation, data management, and model integration, and assist in reactor simulations across neutronics, thermal-hydraulic, and CFD domains.

The role emphasizes software development, scientific computing practices, and exploring AI-assisted coding to boost productivity.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate Junior or Senior, Master's, or PhD student enrolled full time in Nuclear Eng, Mechanical Eng, Computer Science or related field
• Minimum overall GPA 3.0
• Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT/OPT)
• Experience with Python
• Experience with reactor-analysis tools (OpenMC, RELAP, MCNP, SERPENT, Griffin, or MOOSE)
• Experience with FEA or CFD
• Current resume/CV
• Unofficial transcripts and current class schedule/credits
