Idaho National Laboratory is offering a Multiphysics internship focused on advancing MOOSEnger's AI-agent capabilities. The role involves automated model generation, simulation execution, error diagnosis, and verification on representative multiphysics problems.
You will collaborate with INL scientists to build AI-agent workflows and integrate tools and domain knowledge. The internship is onsite at the Idaho Falls Campus on a 9x80 schedule, with potential course credit depending on university
Advanced nuclear energy systems depend on sophisticated modeling and simulation tools to evaluate performance, safety, and operational behavior. MOOSE (Multiphysics Object-Oriented Simulation Environment), developed at Idaho National Laboratory (INL), provides powerful capabilities for multiphysics simulation - but developing, executing, and validating complex simulation models still demands significant expertise and manual effort.
MOOSEnger is a simulation-aware AI-agent framework designed to automate multiphysics modeling and simulation workflows within the MOOSE ecosystem. This internship will focus on advancing MOOSEnger's agentic capabilities, including automated model generation, simulation execution, error diagnosis, and verification. The intern will work closely with INL computational scientists to build AI-agent workflows, integrate simulation tools and domain knowledge, and evaluate agent performance on representative multiphysics problems.
Reporting to the Multiphysics Computational Frameworks team. This team works a 9x80s schedule onsite at our Idaho Falls Campus. Start date and duration of internship vary based on project and student availability. You may be eligible for course credit for this internship if approved by your university.
