Job summary

GEM Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer for a full-time, on-site role in Oak Ridge, TN.

The candidate must hold an active or recently active DOE “Q” clearance or DoD “Top Secret” clearance and have a background in engineering related to construction or industrial projects. The role involves planning, design through testing and turnover, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and coordination with contractors and vendors to support plant systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture from ABET-accredited school.
• 3+ years of engineering experience, preferably in construction or industrial projects.
• U.S. citizenship due to federal work eligibility.
• Active or recently active DOE Q clearance or DoD Top Secret clearance required.
• Project engineering or project management experience.
• Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Chemical engineering background.
• Experience with contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with quality programs, testing activities, and configuration management processes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design through construction, testing, and final turnover.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver critical systems and infrastructure support.
• Partner with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to support design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and startup of plant systems.
• Develop engineering documentation, support quality and configuration management activities, participate in field walkdowns.
• Assist with integrated testing efforts, monitor project progress and budgets.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with program requirements.
