Job summary

General Matter is seeking a Construction Manager to lead nuclear facility construction activities from pre-construction through turnover. You will supervise site work, coordinate with engineers, subcontractors and regulators, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

You will manage complex projects in highly regulated environments, uphold DOE requirements, and drive continuous improvement in safety and operations. The role requires extended hours and weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of industrial construction experience, with a minimum of 5 years in nuclear facility or DOE site construction.
  • 7+ years of experience managing complex construction projects in highly regulated environments.
  • Experience on DOE Hanford Site or other DOE nuclear facilities is required.
  • Active DOE Q clearance or ability to obtain Q clearance is required.
  • Experience with Nuclear Quality Assurance standards is required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise field work and liaise between engineering and project management to ensure compliance with contract drawings and technical specifications.
  • Supervise coordination of construction field scopes to safely align with project schedule.
  • Oversee site logistics and ensure deliveries, site activities, and coordination with adjacent projects.
  • Plan work methods, materials, equipment needs, and schedules; review daily work and update weekly schedule.
  • Coordinate with DOE personnel, subcontractors, and regulators to safely manage nuclear facility construction.
  • Identify scheduling risks and provide mitigation recommendations.
  • Provide input on construction methods, materials, safety, and scheduling.
  • Present work plan in project meetings to align crews and leaders.
  • Ensure inspections and QA verifications are completed within timeframes.
  • Promote strict adherence to nuclear safety culture and process controls.
