Job summary

ENERCON is seeking a Civil Structural Engineering Manager to lead a civil/structural team supporting nuclear design from our Glendale, AZ office. You will mentor engineers, approve designs, and drive client relationships while ensuring quality and timely delivery.

The role requires a PE license and a strong track record in nuclear or heavy industrial design, with up to 10% travel and eligibility for unescorted nuclear plant access. This is a leadership-focused opportunity with growth potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• PE License and 6+ years in design engineering in power generation, nuclear power or heavy industrial; leadership experience preferred.
• Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time; travel duration may vary by project needs.
• Ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant.

Responsibilities

• Unit Leadership & Management: direct work and approve timesheets; conduct annual appraisals; support recruiting.
• Quality Control & Technical Oversight: maintain unit quality; certify design documents; provide technical leadership.
• Project Management & Client Relations: meet budgets/schedules; approve documents; develop client relationships.
• Staff Development & Performance: provide coaching; promote licenses, certifications, training.
• Administrative Support: support staffing plans and company policies.
