Job summary

Enercon is seeking a Civil Structural Engineering Manager to lead a high-caliber team supporting nuclear design across the NSG. This role drives quality, schedules, and client relations while mentoring engineers and advancing the unit’s capabilities.

The position requires a PE license with at least 6 years in design engineering for power/nuclear or heavy industry, plus strong leadership and communication skills. Travel up to 10% and unescorted access to nuclear facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering
• A minimum of 6 years of design engineering experience in power generation, nuclear, or heavy industrial settings; preference for 2 years in a lead role
• Professional Engineering (PE) license required
• Advanced knowledge of applicable codes and standards
• Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time; travel duration may vary by project needs
• Ability to motivate the team and lead with a positive style
• Experience in directing and reviewing technical work and making high-level decisions
• Ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant

Responsibilities

• Unit leadership and management: assign work, approve timesheets, and support recruitment
• Quality control and technical oversight: certify design documents per codes and standards
• Project management and client relations: ensure budget/schedule, lead proposals, and build client relationships
• Staff development and performance: provide feedback and coaching, promote licenses and training
• Administrative duties: support staffing plans aligned with projections
