Provide 24/7 on‑call support for Level 2 computer network systems, responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading mission‑critical production software in a steel mill environment. Engineer and develop event‑driven tracking services using technologies such as RabbitMQ to decouple PLC communication and ensure system reliability for production lines. Optimize mill performance and ensure efficient operations. Implement and maintain reliable software interface tools, databases, product quality and process parameter, historians and higher‑level supervisory control and data delivery systems to help maximize safety, quality, and throughput. Design and develop real‑time analytics and reporting platforms using Blazor, WPF and Flask, including modernizing legacy HMI clients, integrating with hardware like hand scanners, and enabling real‑time data updates with SignalR. Apply Enterprise Web Development, focusing on the server‑side enterprise web application programming, and complex, n‑tier systems. Collect and analyze production data. Incorporate Java for Application Programmers to design and implement automation solutions using Object‑Oriented Programming and other Programming languages including FORTRAN, C#, C++. Troubleshoot and fix software issues. Implement and manage solutions for performance and scalability, including distributed caching with Redis, high‑performance communication with gRPC, and load balancing with YARP. Utilize requirements, design, programming, testing, and problem‑solving skills to understand existing level II models and make modifications or add new functionality as per new requirements. Maintain, update, create reports for mill wide level II production systems. Incorporate Java for Application Programmers to track materials for inventory/reporting purposes. Automate and manage the full CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins and SonarQube, and maintain the observability platform with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry. Manage Mill Systems to perform day‑to‑day operations efficiently. Administer, maintain, and grow production maintenance software, infrastructure, and network hardware. Administer, maintain, and upgrade Oracle and SQL Server databases, responsible for performance tuning, data management (CRUD), and server maintenance. Maintain and upgrade the servers supporting Level II systems in the Beam Mill and Casters.
