Job summary

Nucor Steel Utah in Plymouth, Utah seeks an Automation Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, upgrade, and optimize our automated systems across production lines.

You will apply PLC programming, HMI tool experience, and instrumentation skills while supporting Safety, Quality, Cost, & Reliability in our world-class operations.

Qualifications

• Two-year college degree or similar education, training, and certifications required.
• Experience: PLC programming, HMIs, Wonderware/FTVIEW, instrumentation scaling and PID control.
• Familiarity with Control Logix, AB/ABB drives and NFPA 70E electrical safety knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, upgrade, and optimize automated production systems.
• Provide technical expertise while promoting safety, quality, cost, and reliability.
• Lead and uphold safety policies and housekeeping standards as part of world-class operations.

Basic Job Functions: The Automation Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining, troubleshooting, upgrading, and optimizing our automated systems.

The Automation technician will provide technical expertise, promote Safety, Quality, Cost, & Reliability that support World Class Operations and demonstrate leadership through the maintenance strategy.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts and scheduled and unscheduled overtime
• Two-year college degree or other education, training, and certifications
• Demonstratable experience with PLC Programing, HMI's, Wonderware and/or FTVIEW, scaling instrumentation, PID loops 5 years automation and controls experience

Preferred Qualifications: Four-year college degree or other education, training, and certifications.

• Control Logix's Experience
• AB & ABB Drive Experience
• Familiarity with NFPA 70E-Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace
