Applied Materials, Inc. is seeking a Santa Clara-based New Product (NPI) instructor.

This role blends technical instruction with hands-on product training for new PLC/NPI tools, embedded in the BU to develop and deliver initial classroom and hands-on training on the tool, and to train volume instructors when transitioning to mass production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, electrical, software, and process aspects of semiconductor equipment, with a track record

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, education, or training; 4 years of professional semiconductor equipment experience in installation, programming, safety, maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, and repair.
• If no Bachelor's degree, 6 years of professional semiconductor equipment experience with 2 years in education or training is desirable.
• Nationally recognized certification in Instructional Design or curriculum development is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts semiconductor equipment training needs assessment by collecting information on work procedures and tasks; maintains product knowledge to prepare and present defined product courses.
• Communicates with product groups to obtain current product information for course updates; manages multiple projects and directs team members.
• Determines system utilization requirements by researching and testing systems.
• Develops hardware training student guides using PowerPoint and Word; revises final copy.
• Maintains safe training environment; provides technical troubleshooting for training systems.
• Presents technical training in house and at customer sites; manages classroom/lab activities and safety procedures.
• Coaches and mentors other instructors; resolves customer satisfaction issues.
• Travel up to 40% domestically and internationally.
