Job summary

Meta is seeking a Thermal/Mechanical Engineer for NPI Technical Readiness in Reston, VA. You will oversee thermal architecture alignment and drive NPI initiatives across hyperscaler data center environments.

You will partner with hardware and data center teams to establish thermal management approaches for novel compute architectures and high-density rack deployments, ensuring deployment readiness and providing technical support to operations.

Qualifications

• Conduct architecture reviews with hardware teams to define an efficient interface for mass production in data centers.
• Lead product reviews and readiness assessment for deployment alignment, focusing on thermal, mechanical, spatial, and hardware compatibility.
• Perform airflow and liquid flow analyses to determine capacity and design margins for reliable operation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver NUDD equipment for deployment.
• Coordinate with teams to align roadmaps and secure implementation milestones for new hardware platforms.
• Coordinate with Data Center Operations to determine deployment and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with ODM/OEM vendors to define specs and integration strategy for data center deployments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct architecture reviews with hardware engineering teams to analyze and develop an efficient interface and deployment strategy for mass production within the data center environment.
• Direct product reviews and the technical readiness assessment for deployment alignment, with a focus on thermal, mechanical, spatial, and hardware compatibility.
• Perform airflow and liquid flow demand vs. capacity analysis, identifying design margins and guidance on system control for reliable operation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver the necessary NUDD equipment to support deployment.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver harmonized new hardware platform roadmaps and secure milestones.
• Liaise with Data Center Operations to ascertain infrastructure deployment and operational requirements.
• Work with ODM/OEM vendors to define product specifications, development plans, and the integration strategy within the data center.
