Job summary

Teradyne is seeking a Test Process Engineer in NPI Process Engineering to support hands-on production testing and test-strategy development for electronic devices from pilot to high-volume production.

Responsibilities include developing fixtures and automation, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams, and applying data-driven analysis to optimize test health and coverage. Domestic/international travel may be required.

Qualifications

• B.S./M.S. in Electronic, Optical, or Mechanical Engineering with relevant test development experience.
• Understanding of laser operation principles and safety protocols; photonics a plus.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, datasheets and specifications.
• Experience with measurement instruments such as signal generators and analytic tools.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and problem solving.
• Willingness to travel domestically or internationally; team-oriented in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on production testing of electronic devices and validate processes.
• Design and implement test strategies for module to full system testing across pilot and high-volume transitions.
• Develop and scale test fixtures, interfaces, hardware tooling, and automation with DfX in mind.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy scalable test processes and solve complex issues.
• Apply data-driven methods (SPC, CpK) to monitor test health and coverage.
• Document processes, support ramps, and lead root-cause analysis using structured problem solving.
