Job summary

Anthropic in San Francisco is seeking an NPI Engineer to own the path from supplier design to production readiness for power and cooling equipment. You’ll sit between design, supply chain, quality, and supplier teams, guiding EVT, DVT, PVT, FAT, and SAT to ensure manufacturability and field reliability.

This is hands-on, with time on supplier floors, test labs, and sites. You’ll drive design-for-manufacturing reviews, prototype builds, and qualification programs; travel 30–40% internationally.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in engineering, power electronics, or industrial energy systems.
• Hands-on with NPI, product development, or product engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication across functions.
• Willingness to travel 30–40% internationally.

Responsibilities

• Own the NPI program for new power or cooling products from concept to ramp.
• Drive early supplier design engagement and translate site requirements into specs.
• Lead DFM/DFT/DFx reviews to ensure manufacturability at required rate.
• Plan and run prototype and pilot builds, define EVT/DVT/PVT scope and tests.
• Qualify products for deployment with FAT, SAT, and first article inspections.
• Handoff to manufacturing/quality teams with control plans and procedures.
• Build the reliability picture with FMEA/DFMEA and CAPA.
