Sterling Engineering in Bolingbrook, IL is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a technical product development background to own new product initiatives from concept through production. You will lead cross-functional teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Product Management to deliver on scope, schedule, cost, and quality.

The role emphasizes risk management, stage-gate processes, and continuous improvement of project management standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field required; Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years of project management experience in a technical product development environment.
• Strong understanding of modern product development methodologies, including Lean Product Development, DFM, DFA, DFX and PPAP/ SPC.

Responsabilités

• Lead multidisciplinary, global teams through the development and launch of new and innovative products.
• Own project scope, schedule, budget, staffing, resources, and overall execution to meet commitments.
• Coordinate Product Realization Stage-Gate requirements and ensure progress through each phase.
• Identify, prioritize, and mitigate project risks with critical-path analyses to accelerate timelines and reduce costs.
• Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, Product Management, Marketing, and Aftermarket Service.
• Evaluate projects and processes for cost efficiency, reliability, quality, and overall business performance.
• Drive continuous improvement in project management processes, standards, and best practices.
• Communicate project status, risks, decisions, and milestones to teams, management, and stakeholders.
• Analyze project data to support problem solving and solution development.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation including processes, material requirements, test results, and applicable standards.
