Job summary

Advantech is seeking a hands-on NPI Project Engineer in Tustin, CA to lead new product introductions for industrial computer systems. You will bridge design engineering and mass production, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring on-time, production-ready solutions.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in NPI/manufacturing engineering or hardware development, with strong documentation, testing, and problem‑solving skills. Onsite role with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in NPI, manufacturing engineering, or hardware product development.
• Ability to manage project timelines, deliverables, dependencies and cross-functional activities.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple assignments, and meet deadlines.
• Strong documentation skills and ability to create build instructions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive NPI activities with cross-functional teams to transition embedded PC, Edge AI and intelligent computing solutions into production.
• Analyze customer requirements and translate them into production-ready solutions; coordinate system integration and testing.
• Build, assemble, and validate prototype industrial computer and server rack systems.
• Identify issues early, evaluate solutions and implement corrective actions within timelines.
• Develop SOPs, assembly instructions, test processes, and packaging solutions.
• Manage timelines, deliverables, dependencies, and cross-functional communication for launches.
• Support product certification activities (UL, FCC, CE) and documentation for compliance.
• Work within ISO 9001 processes and support continuous improvement.
• Maintain documentation related to builds, processes, testing, and engineering changes.
• Travel periodically for customer visits, trade shows and manufacturing support.
