Job summary

Advantech USA in Tustin, CA seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to design system architecture for embedded PC hardware and software solutions. You will provide technical support across the product lifecycle and mentor engineering staff.

The role involves prototyping, testing, field troubleshooting, and collaboration with software teams. Travel to customer sites and trade shows is required as needed. A strong hands-on background and leadership abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, PC hardware design, installation, troubleshooting, or a related field.
• Experience developing or troubleshooting PC applications using languages such as C or Visual Basic.
• Understanding of x86/CISC- and RISC-based PC architectures.
• Proficiency with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electronic testing equipment.
• Ability to read and troubleshoot mechanical drawings, schematics, and PCB circuits.

Responsibilities

• Design system architecture and interfaces for embedded PC hardware and software solutions.
• Provide technical support to customers, BD, and sales teams during bids and deployments.
• Assess customer requirements, run system tests, and support installation.
• Build hardware/software demos for sales and marketing activities.
• Troubleshoot field issues and train field personnel and customers.
• Mentor junior engineers and share best practices.
• Travel to customer sites and trade shows as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
