Job summary

Actalent in Oak Creek, WI seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to lead electro-mechanical NPI initiatives from concept through production launch. You will drive PFMEA, labor estimation, and cross-functional collaboration with design teams to ensure manufacturability and efficient production.

The role requires 4+ years in NPI/manufacturing engineering, strong process improvement skills, and hands-on ERP/BOM experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Electronics.
• Minimum of four years of relevant NPI engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering and process engineering for electro-mechanical products.

Responsibilities

• Lead electro-mechanical NPI projects from concept to production launch.
• Create and maintain PFMEA to document process risk for new products.
• Estimate labor times for new products and monitor actual labor performance.
• Support quoting by providing accurate labor estimates and manufacturing input.
• Collaborate with design teams to improve manufacturability and optimize production.
• Set up and maintain product structures in ERP to ensure accurate BOMs and routings.
• Drive completion of required documentation with process engineering.
• Coordinate pre-build meetings and NPI Build Readiness Checklists.
• Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are ready to meet schedules.
• Support NPI builds on the floor to meet quality and performance goals.
• Represent manufacturing in weekly cross-functional product meetings.
• Support new customer proposals with compliance and input.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing and assembly issues to maintain quality.
