Job summary

Teledyne FLIR in Wilsonville, OR is seeking an NPI Engineering Technician to support the development and launch of new gimbal products. This role collaborates with Product Design, Qualification, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to build prototypes, support LRIP, and drive manufacturability improvements.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or related field; bachelor’s preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years hands‑on technician experience in NPI or LRIP environments.
  • Experience with electromechanical/optomechanical assemblies is preferred.
  • Experience managing tools, fixtures, and equipment in production settings.
  • Strong 5S/lean manufacturing and documentation practices.
  • Familiarity with DFM and participating in design reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Support prototype builds of electromechanical/optomechanical assemblies.
  • Manage LRIP line activities: scheduling, line setup, resource coordination, tracking.
  • Maintain line assets, tools, fixtures, and equipment for prototype/early production.
  • Implement and uphold 5S standards and safety.
  • Update work instructions and ensure production documentation accuracy.
  • Provide hands‑on build support and troubleshoot during prototype/early production.
  • Collaborate across functions to improve processes, quality, and cycle time.
  • Identify issues and communicate resolutions to engineering teams.
  • Participate in design reviews to provide production perspective.
