Job summary

Teledyne FLIR Defense is seeking an NPI Engineering Technician to support development and launch of new gimbal products. You will collaborate with design, qualification, quality, and manufacturing teams to build prototypes, support LRIP, and drive improvements.

This hands-on role emphasizes manufacturability and timely transitions from design to production. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in NPI environments, strong problem solving, and experience with electromechanical assemblies.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years in a technician role supporting NPI, prototype, or LRIP environments.
Hands-on experience with electromechanical and/or optomechanical assemblies is preferred.
Experience managing tools, fixtures, and equipment in production/prototype settings.
Experience leading 5S and lean manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

Support prototype builds for complex electromechanical and optomechanical assemblies.
Manage LRIP line activities: scheduling, line setup, resource coordination, performance tracking.
Maintain line assets, tools, fixtures, and equipment for prototype and early production.
Implement and maintain 5S standards to boost efficiency and safety.
Update work instructions and production documentation; ensure accuracy.
