Job summary

Teradyne in North Reading, MA is seeking an NPI Manufacturing Engineer to bring new electro-mechanical products to life by partnering with cross-functional teams to move designs from concept through volume manufacturing.

You will develop assembly processes, document manufacturing methods, support tooling/fixtures, and investigate assembly issues, while training pilot production and contract manufacturers. On-site role with travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and curiosity for electro-mechanical assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret solid models, BOMs, and drawings.
• Experience using SolidWorks to design/document parts and assemblies.
• Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers, project leaders, and other professionals.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 apps (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• On-site work at North Reading, MA and travel 10–25%.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve risks early in development.
• Build and evaluate electro-mechanical assemblies to support process flows.
• Create and maintain assembly instructions and process documentation for pilot production and CM partners.
• Support the design, documentation, and qualification of assembly tools and fixtures.
• Investigate assembly issues with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Train pilot production and contract manufacturing personnel on assembly methods.
• Support timely transfer of new products to volume manufacturing partners.
• Contribute to additional NPI and manufacturing projects as needed.
