Job summary

KLA is seeking a Product Development Engineer for New Product Introduction (NPI) to support the division's new product development process and partner with design engineers to finalize product designs and prototypes. You will help release new products into production and create critical items like BOMs, procedures, tooling, and packaging.

Role emphasizes hands-on engineering in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with mass production readiness and continuous improvement focus.

Qualifications

• PhD or related field with zero years of related work experience; master's with 3 years; bachelor's with 5 years of related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and test electrical and electromechanical assemblies for design validation and assembly procedure development.
• Propose new insights and improvements; review design requirements and drive crucial program decisions.
• Generate and release the product BOM and assembly procedures.
• Advance alignment/test tooling and packaging needed to build and ship qualified assemblies.
• Coordinate with design engineers to obtain prototype material.
• Support field service by coordinating assembly, testing and shipment of field-replaceable assemblies.
• Investigate issues with prototype designs through test and system integration in a cleanroom.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and field service to address problems and drive CIP to hit cycle time, cost and yield targets.
• Create, review and submit ECOs to release design and process changes for manufacturability.
