Job summary

KLA is seeking a Product Development Engineer for New Product Introduction (NPI) to support technology feasibility evaluations and release new products into production. You will work with design engineers to complete product designs, build prototypes, and release BOMs, procedures, tooling, and packaging.

You will collaborate with manufacturing to ensure mass production readiness, contributing to teamwork, learning, and forward-thinking in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree with related work experience; Master’s level with 3 years; Bachelor’s level with 5 years.
• Experience with optical-based semiconductor inspection/metrology equipment is a plus.
• Hands-on build/test experience with electrical/electrical-mechanical subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Build and test electrical and electromechanical assemblies for design validation and assembly procedure development.
• Generate and release the product BOM and assembly procedures.
• Develop alignment/test tooling and packaging for qualified assemblies.
• Collaborate with design engineers to receive and organize prototype material.
• Coordinate assembly, testing, and shipment of field-replaceable assemblies with field service.
• Investigate and resolve issues with prototype designs through integration in a cleanroom.
• Drive CIP projects to improve cycle time, cost, and yield targets.
• Create, review and submit ECOs to release design/process changes.
• Communicate clearly in writing and verbally; use data-driven decisions.
