Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions in Valley Green, PA is seeking an NPI Automation Engineer to join the Cable Backplane Systems team. You will integrate automation into new product builds, review designs for automation viability, and support global deployment.

Responsibilities include installation, commissioning, and training of international teams, with a strong emphasis on scalable automation and reliability improvements across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or technical equivalent in a related field.
• 2+ years in manufacturing; or 5+ years of applicable experience.
• Proficient in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi).
• Experience with robotics integration (FANUC/ABB/UR).
• Familiar with HMI/SCADA systems and industrial protocols.
• Strong mechanical, pneumatics, sensors and actuators knowledge.
• Willing to travel globally (50%+).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with NPI teams to inject automation into new builds.
• Review designs to spot automation opportunities and constraints.
• Advise on fixture design, orientation and material handling.
• Participate in reviews to ensure manufacturability and scalability.
• Support installation, commissioning, and validation at international sites.
• Train global teams on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Scale automation from pilot to full production globally.
• Assist upgrades and retrofits for better performance.
