Job summary

JLG Industries, an Oshkosh company, invites motivated Mechanical Engineering students to intern with the NPD Booms team. You will design, model, and test mechanical systems, collaborating with global engineers on CAD layouts and ECNs. A GPA of 3.0+ and current pursuit of a mechanical engineering degree are required.

Office-based role with opportunities to assist on prototypes and production builds. You will gain hands-on experience in weight/stress calculations, materials, and manufacturing

Qualifications

• Student working toward a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

Responsibilities

• Design, model and test mechanical systems integrated with JLG equipment.
• Research and implement continuous improvement requests to support manufacturing and operations.
• Collaborate with global engineering resources to prepare vehicle component layouts using CAD (Creo Parametric).
• Create and manage ECN s (Engineering Change Notices) using PLM system.
• Update bills of materials to reflect product changes.
• Assist on the assembly floor for prototypes and production builds.
• Generate engineering calculations for weight, stress and performance.
• Consult with suppliers, customers and internal teams to solve problems.
• Assist in testing complete vehicles or components.
