Job summary

JLG, an Oshkosh company, is seeking an R&D Engineering Intern in Pennsylvania. You will design, model, and test mechanical systems, while collaborating with global engineers on continuous improvement requests and CAD-based layouts.

The role requires pursuing a mechanical engineering degree with a 3.0+ GPA, strong communication skills, and CAD experience. On-site work with potential exposure to manufacturing and assembly environments is expected.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Previous internship or work experience.
• Interest in mechanical design.
• Experience with CAD systems such as Creo, Pro-E, CATIA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, model and test mechanical systems integrated with JLG products.
• Work on CIRs to support manufacturing, supply chain, and operations.
• Prepare/revise vehicle component layouts using CAD (Creo, Pro-E, CATIA).
• Create and manage ECNs using the PLM system.
• Update bill of materials in the PDM system to reflect changes.
• Follow project on the assembly floor for prototype, pilot, or production build and provide technical assistance.
• Generate engineering calculations of weight distribution, stress analysis, performance estimations, etc.
• Consult with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to find solutions.
• Test complete vehicles or vehicle components.
