Job summary

First Co. is seeking an L2 NPD Engineer to drive HVAC product development from concept to production launch.

You will own components and subsystems, translate requirements into specs, and collaborate with CAD, labs, manufacturing, and supply chain to deliver robust designs. The role requires a bachelor’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, 2+ years in HVAC product engineering, knowledge of HVAC codes, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Typically 2+ years of HVAC product engineering or related experience.
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems and heat transfer.
• Familiarity with HVAC codes and standards such as UL 60335-2-40, AHRI, and DOE.
• Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned component and subsystem designs and technical deliverables from concept through validation and production launch.
• Translate product and application requirements into engineering specifications and design decisions.
• Deliver designs that meet performance, cost, quality, reliability, compliance, and manufacturability targets.
• Develop and evaluate design concepts using engineering calculations, simulation, tolerance analysis, and appropriate design tools.
• Support prototype builds and conduct laboratory testing; analyze results and resolve technical issues with guidance as needed.
• Apply design-for-manufacturability, serviceability, and reliability principles to assigned work.
• Coordinate with CAD, Laboratory, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Sales to complete deliverables.
• Manage assigned tasks, risks, and dependencies, and communicate progress.
