Job summary

Dover Food Retail in Richmond, Virginia, is seeking a New Product Development / Design to Value Engineer to develop refrigerated merchandisers and lead cost-reduction efforts on existing product lines. You will apply value engineering to optimize cost, collaborate with Strategic Sourcing and Manufacturing Engineering, and manage the DTV project from concept to completion.

The role requires CAD modeling, prototype testing, field validation, and strong communication across teams to deliver

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering required or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience in design of industrial products.
• Experience with product design and solid modeling.
• Experience in refrigeration, air conditioning, dehumidifier, sealed-system, airflow thermal management, or related design.

Responsibilities

• Apply value engineering to optimize cost on existing products.
• Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing and Manufacturing Engineering on cost-saving projects.
• Manage the DTV project from concept to completion, including scheduling and cross-functional communication.
• Develop CAD solid models and engineering simulations of proposed concepts.
• Collaborate with Product Management to validate solutions with customers.
• Develop test plans and work with the Lab to validate solutions.
• Conduct field tests to validate solutions.
