Qualifications

Job description

The Psych Nurse Practitioner (APN) or Physician Assistant utilizes a patient-centered coordinated care model, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. The APN / PA works collaboratively with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs. APN must have PMHNP certification, PA must have psych training.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Required Qualifications

  • Education:

    • Successful completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education.

  • Licensure & Certifications:

    • Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant License.
    • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

  • Skills & Abilities:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency with computer platforms, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
      AHA Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
