Job description

The Neurocritical Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant utilizes a patient-centered coordinated care model, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. The APN works collaboratively with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs. ER/Stroke/Critical care/hospital experience required.

One Weekend a Month

Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:

• Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
• Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Proven clinical competency maintained through ongoing clinical practice and continuing education.
• Experience in a relevant patient care setting (or as regulations dictate).

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with computer platforms, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
• Ability to maintain a collaborative practice agreement with staff physicians.

Required Licenses & Certifications:

• Current NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
• Active Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) certification in New Jersey.
• Board certification from AANP or ANCC.
• BLS (AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP) Certification.
• National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Active CDS and DEA registrations for prescriptive authority in New Jersey.
• AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification.

Physician Assistant (PA) Qualifications

Required Education, Knowledge, & Skills:

• Successful completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with computer platforms, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.

Required Licenses & Certifications:

• Current State Physician Assistant License.
• Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (BLS) HCP Certification.
• AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
