Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk invites applications for a Physician Assistant - Surgical Services, Per Diem. The PA will work under physician supervision across inpatient and outpatient settings, including ED, OR, Pre-Admission Testing, and other departments, delivering high-quality care with a focus on trauma and surgical services.

The role requires NYS PA licensure, NCCPA certification, BLS, and flexibility for per diem shifts, with preferred ACLS, PALS, and NRP credentials depending on

Qualifications

• Graduate of a PA program accredited by The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, or its predecessor.
• Current NCCPA certification
• Current New York State license as Registered Physician Assistant
• Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Introduces/identifies self as a physician assistant
• Performs initial assessment/history and physical examination
• Orders and interprets tests/results (lab, radiol., ekg) based on patient need
• Documents care in the chart in accordance with Hospital policy & procedure
• Formulates diagnoses
• Formulates and implements treatment plan
• Consults with physician when required based on patient's condition
• Reassesses patients
