Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for Internal Medicine on a Per Diem basis. The role supports Medical Staff Services with in-house coverage across internal medicine services at our Suffolk campus.

The successful candidate will perform histories/examinations, order tests, document care, and help implement treatment plans under physician supervision. This position emphasizes teamwork, patient communication, and adherence to hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a PA program accredited by ARC-PA.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• Current New York State license as Registered Physician Assistant.
• Basic Life Support Certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs history and physical examination for patients.
• Orders and interprets tests and radiology results as needed.
• Documents care in the medical record per policy.
• Develops, implements, and follows through on treatment plans.
• Consults with supervising physician when required.
• Reassesses patients and updates care plans accordingly.
• Performs in-house procedures as trained (IVs, catheters, etc.).
• Triage patients in the ED when needed.
