Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health Inc. seeks an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) for per diem coverage in neurocritical care. You’ll collaborate with the hospital team to assess, plan and implement patient care, bringing leadership, direct clinical practice, and research into daily practice.

Required NJ state APN/NP licensure, prescriptive authority, board certification (AANP/ANCC), and ACLS. Weekend/holiday coverage as needed; no on-call.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
• Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice.
• National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law.
• Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff.

The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or PA utilizes a patient-centered coordinated care model, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. The APN works collaboratively with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs. Neurocritical Care exerience required for per diem.

Weekends and Holidays as needed. No on-call.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
• Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice.
• Experience in a relevant patient care setting (or as regulations dictate).
• National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law.
• Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
