Job summary

Ascension Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join a busy, well-regarded primary care practice in Tulsa, OK. This employed position supports a strong referral base and access to the health system's robust resources.

You will diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions in collaboration with a physician, take patient histories, perform assessments, order tests, provide preventative care, and educate patients and families. A Master's in Nursing and NP prescriptive authority are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree of Nursing required.
• Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing or Kansas Board of Nursing for KS facilities.
• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire; DEA credentials preferred; RN licensure preferred.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated advanced practice provider to join an employed position within a busy, well-respected practice, supported by a strong referral base and the full resources of a robust health system network.

How you'll make an impact in this role

• In collaboration with a physician, provide for the expansion of individualized primary healthcare services by diagnosing and treating certain acute or chronic health conditions.
• Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview and examination. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic studies. Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
• Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
• Counsel and educate patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
• Document delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. For incumbents working in Kansas-based facilities, licensure through the Kansas Board of Nursing will be required.
• Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing preferred.

Education:

• Master's degree of Nursing required.
