Job summary

Withum is seeking a Not-for-Profit Audit Senior to lead engagement teams on audits, reviews, and compilations for nonprofit clients. The role involves planning, supervising staff, and coordinating with managers and partners to deliver high-quality service.

Based in any of Withum's offices, you will oversee staffing, risk assessment, fieldwork and final reporting, while developing client relationships and mentoring staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• CPA or CPA eligible
• 2–3 years of public accounting experience with leadership of engagements
• Strong US GAAP knowledge
• Excellent client service and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple engagements in a fast-paced team
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills
• Knowledge of IRS Form 990/990T not required
• Knowledge of CCH audit tool not required

Responsibilities

• Lead the engagement team staff on planning and execution of an audit, review or compilation engagement
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the audit engagement from staffing to conclusion
• Provide supervision and support to engagement staff and communicate with managers/partners
• Perform attest procedures specific to nonprofits, including trade and membership organizations
• Collaborate with managers and partners on client issue resolution and regulatory issues
• Review schedule and general ledger accounts for accuracy
• Manage multiple engagements concurrently with various teams
• Create and track engagement budgets for efficiency
• Conduct discussions with team members on evaluations and provide guidance
• Serve in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader
