Job summary

Withum is seeking a Not-for-Profit Audit Senior to lead audit engagements, from planning through completion, based in any office location. You will supervise staff, mentor teams, and build client relationships while ensuring high-quality assurance on nonprofit engagements.

The role demands 2–3 years in public accounting with strong analytical, communication and leadership skills, and familiarity with US GAAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• CPA or CPA eligible preferred.
• At least 2–3 years public accounting experience, leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
• Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills with familiarity with US GAAP.
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with ability to develop client relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements in a fast-paced, collaborative team.
• Strong leadership, training and mentoring skills; strong verbal, written and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engagement team staff on planning and execution of audit, review or compilation engagements.
• Oversee day-to-day audit engagement operations including staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, and reporting.
• Provide supervision and support to engagement staff and communicate with engagement manager and partner.
• Perform and oversee nonprofit attest procedures, focusing on trade and membership organizations.
• Collaborate with managers and partners on client issue resolution and regulatory considerations.
• Review scheduled and non-scheduled general ledger accounts for accurate entries.
• Manage multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to meet deadlines.
• Create and track engagement budgets to identify inefficiencies.
• Conduct discussions with team members on evaluations and provide guidance.
• Serve in professional development programs as instructor or discussion leader.
