Job summary

Withum is seeking a Not-for-Profit Audit Senior to lead engagement teams across planning to completion. You will supervise staff, ensure high-quality attest work, and maintain strong client relationships while collaborating with managers and partners.

The role emphasizes nonprofit audits, including workshops or discussions as needed, with room for professional development in a collaborative firm culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• CPA or CPA eligible.
• 2–3 years of public accounting experience with leadership of multiple engagements.
• Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including familiarity with US GAAP.
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with ability to maintain client relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and projects in a fast-paced team environment.
• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills with good verbal, written and presentation abilities.
• Knowledge of IRS Form 990, 990T helpful but not required.
• Knowledge of CCH audit tool not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engagement team staff on planning and execution of audits, reviews, or compilations to deliver world-class client service.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the audit engagement including staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, and financial reporting.
• Provide supervision and support to staff and foster open communication with management and partners.
• Perform and oversee nonprofit attest procedures, focusing on trade and membership organizations.
• Collaborate with managers and partners on client issue resolution and regulatory/accounting guidance.
• Review schedules and general ledger entries for accuracy.
• Manage multiple engagements concurrently to meet client deadlines.
• Create and monitor engagement budgets to identify inefficiencies.
• Provide coaching and evaluations to team members and participate in professional development.
• Serve as instructor or discussion leader in development programs.
