Job summary

Zekai is seeking a Norwegian Transcription Expert for a 100% remote contractor role. You will transcribe Norwegian audio/video into text with high fidelity, review and edit for accuracy, and annotate speech segments per project guidelines.

You’ll flag unclear content and collaborate with coordinators to ensure consistency, while maintaining data privacy. The ideal candidate has native or near-native Norwegian, strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and familiarity with

In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.

Scope of Work:

• Transcribe audio and video content accurately from Norwegian into written text, ensuring high fidelity to the original material.
• Conduct thorough reviews and edits of transcriptions to uphold strict linguistic and formatting standards.
• Annotate and categorize speech segments based on specific project guidelines.
• Identify and flag ambiguous or unclear audio content, providing context or suggested interpretations where necessary.
• Collaborate with project coordinators and other experts to clarify requirements and ensure consistency across deliverables.
• Contribute feedback on guidelines and processes to optimize transcription accuracy and workflow efficiency.
• Maintain secure handling of confidential information and adhere to data privacy requirements at all times.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Native or near-native proficiency in Norwegian, with exceptional command of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Proven experience in transcription, linguistic annotation, or a related language-focused discipline.
• Strong attention to detail, capable of delivering precise and contextually accurate work.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clarity and responsiveness.
• Familiarity with transcription tools, audio editing software, or linguistic annotation platforms is advantageous.
