An Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Northwest Illinois AHEC Program Director leads and manages regional health education programs, community partnerships, and workforce development. Key duties include overseeing operations, securing grant funding, and building academic community partnerships. The Northwest Illinois AHEC Program Director will be responsible in connecting students to careers, professionals to communities and communities to better health in collaboration with the regional AHEC center and Rochelle Community Hospital. Northwest Illinois AHEC Program Director will provide visionary, mission oriented and executive leadership to enable fulfillment of the essential functions of Rochelle Community Hospital; to direct, supervise and guide staff, and to generate and sustain supportive linkages for programs and services provided/implemented by the agency. The Northwest Illinois AHEC Program Director plays a critical role in addressing healthcare disparities and improving access to quality care in their region.
Fosters collaboration, interaction, open communication, and employee well-being, leading to excellent patient care and job satisfaction. Working in hospitals/clinics involves interacting with patients- other staff-providers-public, etc. and exposure to communicable disease, bodily fluids, medicinal preparations, cleaning fluids, medical waste, radiation and other hazardous conditions common to the healthcare environment.
