Job summary
Emery Jensen is seeking a Business Development Manager for the New England region to sign new high-value Pro Lumber, Pro Paint and Hardware customers. This hunter role focuses on full-conversion opportunities and making Emery Jensen the primary distributor from day one.
You will collaborate with the sales team, travel 60-75% and reside near Albany, NY, Portland, ME, or Providence, RI. The role offers a base salary of $100,000–$110,000 with incentives and comprehensive benefits.
Qualifications
- College degree or equivalent required.
- Minimum 3 years in new business development or territory management.
- Comfortable with cold calling and a track record for success.
- Knowledge/experience in the hard-lines industry preferred.
- Existing book of business highly preferred.
- Travel 60-75% of the time and should reside near target areas.
Responsibilities
- Identify and sign new high-value customers across NE for Pro Lumber, Paint and Hardware channels.
- Develop pipeline and articulate Emery Jensen value proposition to meet customer needs.
- Coordinate with Territory Managers to transition new accounts smoothly.
- Maintain a weekly prospect pipeline with measurable results.
- Attend industry events and trade shows with an effective outreach plan.
