Job summary

HDR seeks a North Central Regional Hydropower Practice Leader to drive growth and oversee projects in HDR's Minnesota/Wisconsin and surrounding areas. You will leverage industry relationships with HDR's business development and execution teams to expand hydropower capabilities, including pumped storage and related studies.

The role requires extensive hydropower experience, strong leadership, and ability to mentor staff while advancing HDR’s employee-owned culture and strategic goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years hydropower, dam, hydraulic structures or related engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering and PE registration.
• Strong leadership, mentoring and client-relations skills.
• Ability to travel.
• Willingness to become licensed in additional states is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead or partner in planning and execution of existing or new hydropower projects.
• Drive growth and coordinate with HDR teams for business development and execution.
• Prepare and review budgets for the hydropower section; monitor scope and changes.
• Schedule, assign and mentor hydropower staff; conduct performance reviews.
• Coordinate with other discipline groups and ensure quality control of deliverables.
• Maintain client relations and contribute to marketing and client development activities.
