Job summary

Zenobē, with offices in Chicago and New York, seeks a Head of Project Development – North America to build and lead a team delivering technically engineered fleet electrification solutions. You will drive permitting, interconnection, and EPC tendering while shaping the North American strategy and customer engagements.

You will report to the EVP–Partnerships and Commercial Operations, operating in a fast-growing scale-up environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher – required.
• Demonstrated project development background in EV, energy, or broader infrastructure (P3, renewables, utility-scale).
• Proven experience building and leading technical/engineering teams.
• Proficient working knowledge and interpretation of electrical schematics/drawings/SLDs.
• Experience with land-use planning and public/private property entitlements.
• Detailed experience with permitting, AHJs, and construction management processes.
• Experience with utility interconnection process (service/line extension, load letters, capacity requests).
• Experience with EPC tendering and managing supplier-partners (Tier 1–3).
• Strong project management acumen; capable of multi-project portfolio management.
• Strong commercial acumen; understanding of how design and VE affect deal economics.
• Legal and contracting experience; risk allocation in contracts.
• Flexibility in work location – remote, office, and on-site with travel.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and personally work alongside a team of technical sales engineers, managers, and associates delivering technical solutions for fleet electrification projects.
• Own the technical project development function supporting Zenobē’s commercial group in North America, with cross-functional coordination.
• Support your team with site surveys, initial project designs (HV/LV equipment, EV charging, layouts in AutoCAD).
• Navigate permitting and AHJ requirements across jurisdictions to keep projects on schedule.
• Develop and maintain costing models, Scopes of Work, RFQs, and SOPs to scale capability with growth.
• Conduct feasibility reviews to assess sites, flag risk, cost, and feasibility early.
• Assess project design during bidding; identify VE opportunities to reduce cost and risk.
• Support EPC tendering and manage supplier-partner relationships across Tier 1–3.
