Job summary

Veoneer is seeking a North America Engineering Quality Manager in Southfield, MI to lead quality across U.S. product development programs.

You will partner with Engineering, Program Management, Operations, Supplier Quality, and Customer Quality to strengthen risk prevention and release readiness for systems, software, and hardware. The role demands an independent, evidence‑based perspective, and strong leadership—driving quality governance, process discipline, and escalation procedures while

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
10+ years in automotive or safety‑critical product development with leadership experience.
Experience leading cross‑functional teams across sites.
Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 26262, automotive cybersecurity, Automotive SPICE, requirements engineering, traceability, configuration management, risk management, and verification and validation.
Hands‑on experience with APQP, FMEA, 8D, root‑cause analysis, corrective action, and lessons learned.
Experience integrating quality into Agile or scaled Agile planning, development, delivery, metrics, and retrospectives.
Strong analytical judgment, leadership, coaching, communication, and stakeholder management across functions, locations, and cultures.

Responsibilities

Lead NA engineering quality to drive quality across U.S. product development programs.
Translate global Engineering Quality priorities into a regional strategy with measurable objectives.
Govern quality governance across the region with clear decision criteria, escalation paths, and management reviews.
Identify risks early, prevent defects, and resolve quality concerns before milestones or customers.
Assess engineering process maturity and convert gaps into improvement plans.
Ensure end‑to‑end alignment and traceability from requirements through verification and release.
Coach and develop the North America Engineering Quality team.
