Job summary

Lighthouse for the Blind of Fort Worth seeks a Staff Accountant to perform accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting tasks in a professional office environment. You will support the Head of Accounting and Finance in a deadline-driven nonprofit setting.

Responsibilities include month-end close, payroll processing, ACA reporting, grant data, audits, and compliance, while handling confidential information and system migrations as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in accounting or financial analysis.
• Bachelor’s Degree required; specialization in accounting/finance preferred.
• Experience with nonprofit or manufacturing environments is a plus.
• Strong communication and analytical skills; capable of independent work.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed review, analysis, and reconciliation of assigned financial accounts.
• Maintain financial schedules and record journal entries.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and assist with month-end close.
• Support payroll processing and ACA reporting.
• Assist with grant data and tracking restricted monies; help with external audits.
