Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting team in a hybrid work environment. You will maintain the general ledger, post journal entries, and manage monthly and year-end closes for accurate financial reporting.

The role requires strong Excel skills, experience with nonprofit accounting software, and attention to detail. You will work with restricted and unrestricted funds and support grant reporting and audits.

Competenze

• Associate's degree required with 7+ years accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred with 2+ years nonprofit or grant accounting experience.
• GAAP and fund accounting knowledge required.
• Experience with nonprofit accounting software (Abila MIP/QuickBooks) and Excel.

Mansioni

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including payroll allocations, accruals, and adjustments.
• Perform monthly and year-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Complete bank and balance-sheet reconciliations with supporting documentation.
• Record and reconcile fixed asset activity and depreciation.
• Maintain accounting records for restricted and unrestricted funds.
• Track grant expenditures and assist with grant reporting and compliance.
