Job summary

Heartview Foundation is seeking an in-person Controller in Bismarck, ND to lead the accounting team and ensure accurate financial reporting. You will supervise staff, oversee the general ledger, close processes, reconciliations, internal controls, grant accounting, and audit prep while partnering with CFO to improve budgeting and management reporting.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in accounting/finance, 5 years of accounting experience (nonprofit/healthcare preferred) and proven

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a business-related field is required.
• Five years of progressively responsible accounting experience required; nonprofit or healthcare experience preferred.
• Prior experience leading accounting staff and processes required.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, initiative, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to pass a background check and comply with our drug-free workplace policy.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Accounting Department.
• Manage financial close and reporting.
• Maintain accounting systems and internal controls.
• Strengthen management reporting and cost accounting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Oversee general accounting activities.
• Coordinate audit and external financial reporting.
• Promote financial accountability and continuous improvement.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all financial matters.
