Job summary

Heartview Foundation is seeking a dynamic Controller to lead the accounting team in Bismarck, ND. You will oversee routine accounting, financial close, internal controls, grant accounting, and audits in collaboration with the CFO to improve budgeting and cost reporting.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance and at least five years of progressive accounting experience, with nonprofit or healthcare exposure preferred. In-person, full-time, 40 hours/week.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a business-related field is required.
• Five years of progressively responsible accounting experience; nonprofit or healthcare experience preferred.
• Prior experience leading accounting staff and processes is required.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, initiative, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Accounting Department.
• Manage financial close, reporting, and reconciliations.
• Oversee general accounting activities and internal controls.
• Coordinate audit and external financial reporting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in financial matters.
