Job summary

Exceptional Parents Unlimited in Fresno, CA seeks a Senior Accountant to support the Accounting Manager with daily operations of the organization’s accounting functions. The incumbent will perform complex accounting duties, prepare schedules, reports, and financial statements, and ensure GAAP compliance with the organization’s policies.

The role also involves budget development support, grant management, internal controls, audit assistance, monthly close, and staff training.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating across departments.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and adherence to deadlines.
• Demonstrated integrity and commitment to ethical accounting practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the monthly close process and prepare monthly reports.
• Develop budgets with program directors and monitor grant expenditures.
• Prepare or review quarterly Sales Tax returns and annual Business Property Tax returns.
• Implement internal controls over accounting functions to minimize risk.
• Assist Accounting Manager and CFO in developing policies and procedures and maintaining the Policy & Procedures Manual.
• Review grant invoices monthly and ensure accurate recording in the general ledger.
