Job summary

Groundwork USA seeks a Finance and Operations Manager to support Groundwork Affiliates with bookkeeping, grants management, and HR processes. The role will work with the Director of Network Organizational Health and the NSL team to promote financial integrity and operational efficiency across a national network.

This fully remote position invites candidates nationwide, with occasional travel to Groundwork Network gatherings. nonprofit finance experience and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Commitment to Groundwork's mission and values.
• Bachelor's degree OR a minimum of 5 years experience in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Strong nonprofit accounting knowledge (GAAP) and month-end / year-end close experience.
• Experience with grant management, invoicing, subawards, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes and reconciliations.
• Prepare financial reports for executives, board, and funders.
• Manage grants, subawards, and related reporting requirements.
• Support HR policy updates, payroll coordination, and staff training.
• Provide guidance to affiliates to strengthen financial and operational practices.
